My Topic

This topic is specifically chosen because I have very personal experiences with this location. I always look back at the time I went to Daytona Beach because I had one group of friends going to Texas for spring break and another going to Daytona and until this day, I do not regret the decision I made. Great memories, great friends, why wouldn’t I want to choose this as my topic? The theme that I used was “Twenty-Twenty”. I chose this theme because the layout best fit for what I was going to be blogging about. I also chose it because of it colors. The colors stood out to me which I believed would keep the visitors engaged. I strictly stayed with the Alegreya theme for the font. I did this because many people tend to overuse different font styles; making the overall assignment look tacky and excessive. I wanted to be more simpler and straight to the point so it would be easier for all to understand.

Other information such as what I have learned from creating this blog is that WordPress is very beneficial. Playing around with it, I was able to discover multiple things that could benefit me in my personal field of work. Things such as creating a layout properly on a page/post and creating accessible links to another page. There’s so many ways to edit things and make it appealing to the eye. Overall, I enjoyed creating this blog and I hope you enjoyed it!

My Favorite Restaurant

During the time that I stayed at Daytona Beach, I can say without a doubt I had gained some weight. Friends, activities, food, repeat. This pattern continued over a course of a week and when I tell you, there was no limit to how much food was being ate. Simply site seeing, you could walk into a restaurant, sit down, and see three more restaurants from outside the window. But the main one that kept my friends and I wanting more, was Joe’s Crab Shack.

Setting right on the pier, this establishment provided some of the freshest seafood that I had in a long time. From buckets of crab legs to signature shrimp platters, we were able to walk in hungry and walk out on a full stomach. Although the food is a bit pricey, you cant help but to take into consideration the scenery.

The best time to go was during late evening. The afterglow of the sunset reflecting off the horizon while eating fresh seafood, surrounded by the ones you love. You just can’t compete with that.

Also, for those that can drink, a drink that was highly popular at the time was the “Shark Bite”. These drinks were so popular that each time we went they were sold out. So if you ever come across Joe’s Crab Shack, you better hurry and see if these drinks are still in stock!

Daytona Beach Bandshell

Honestly, what doesn’t Daytona Beach have? When you hear the name you would assume that it is only a beach with maybe two or more places to eat nearby. But this, this is everything a person can imagine put into one gigantic area. Yes Daytona Beach provides food, rides, etc., but to top everything off, they have an amphitheater right on the boardwalk that overlooks the crystal clear waters.

Daytona Beach Bandshell

From May through September, this amphitheater, known as the “Daytona Beach Bandshell”, consists of jazz, musical bands, and even concerts.

This area is a very infatuating site if I may say. During my trip, since this area can have up to 5000 people for events, needless to say there is always something that’s happening. All in a simple walk across the boardwalk, I witnessed a wedding, cheer competitions, live bands playing across the area, and stunt performers. It’s incredible to think that so many different activities can occur in one area at the same time. So if you are your friends are struggling to figure where the next trip is to, look no more because Daytona Beach is waiting for you!

Amusement Parks

Have you ever traveled somewhere and thought to yourself, “Wow, there is really nothing to do here?”. Well don’t worry because you wont feel like that when you go to Daytona Beach! This beach is no ordinary beach because within walking distances, there are numerous amusement parks! Parks such as the Daytona Lagoon which is located just across the street from the boardwalk.

There are over twelve water rides including a giant wave pool and lazy river for those who want to just sit back and enjoy the scenery.

But wait there’s more! For the non-swimmers, they have a family fun center that provides miniature golf, laser-tag, a 70 foot sky-rail zip-line and more! Another amusement park that offers a lot of fun is the Joyland Amusement Center. Located right on the boardwalk with the many other establishments, this center brings a variety of family-fun thrill rides, ski-ball, etc.. And if that doesn’t catch your attention, the street performers surely will. For some of them, this is their daily lives so they perform daily and from my personal experience, they are quite entertaining.
